Your Healthwatch team consists of staff, board members and our other volunteers. We have a Manager and an Engagement Officer who look after our Enter and View visits programme, adult volunteers and young volunteers. Our Board Members, who bring a variety of experience and skills in the health, social care, human resources and business sectors, set the strategic priorities and oversee our finances. We could not manage without the hard working volunteers of all ages who support our work programme.

Our powers to enter and view

All local Healthwatch have the power to ‘enter and view’ providers to observe matters relating to health and social care services. These powers do not extend to services relating to local authorities’ social services functions for people under the age of 18. Organisations must allow an authorised representative to enter and view and observe activities on premises controlled by the provider as long as this does not affect the provision of care or the privacy and dignity of people using the services. Providers do not have to allow entry to parts of a care home which are not communal areas or allow entry to premises if their work on the premises relates to childrens’ social services.

Authorised representatives

Our authorised representatives carry photo identification and must have completed the training and background checks necessary to become an Enter and View Authorised Representative before they make any visits. Below is a list of all our authorised representatives:
