The Gateshead breast screening service is no longer be offering open invitations and will instead be reverting back to timed appointments.
From this week, women who are eligible for breast screening will receive a letter through the post with an appointment date and time.
Women will no longer have to book their own appointment. If the date and/or time is not suitable, women can change their appointment easily by using the online appointment system, by telephoning us on 0191 445 2554, or emailing Gan-tr.breast-admin@nhs.net
Gateshead Breast Screening Service, based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, covers Gateshead, South Tyneside, Sunderland, Durham and Chester-le-Street.
